The Beck-Envision Team Launches Mentor-Protégé Program

At The Beck Group we do more than design and build buildings; we build our communities. In Atlanta, one of the ways we’re achieving this is through our newly-launched Mentor-Protégé Program.

The goal of this seven-month program is to give diverse companies the knowledge to grow their businesses, build networks and develop relationships to pursue work with The Beck Group and similarly scaled construction managers. We want this program to lead to successful long-term partnerships.

To ensure success, we partnered with Envision, the Tampa-based construction management, and flooring firm, who helped develop a similar ground-breaking program with our team in Tampa.

Over the past six months, we worked on Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) partner outreach. We are interested in relationships that transcend the typical one-off contractual fee-for-service interactions. We’re striving for mutually beneficial partnerships where trust, faith in knowledge, shared risk taking, professionalism and sincere concern for one another drives the interaction.

After numerous interviews with Atlanta-based MWBE firms, the Beck-Envision team identified a talented and enthusiastic group of firms with true partnership potential. We started this program to increase the success rate for those partnerships.

The seven-month program with participating protégés kicked off Thursday, February 7th. It was an excellent opportunity to start building relationships that we hope will blossom over the coming months.

We will meet once a month and cover topics like mission and vision statements, cash flow management, project execution, contracts, and growth strategies. Additionally, our Beck-Envision team wants to learn what we can do to improve working relationships from our MWBE partners.

Community is the bedrock of our existence. We believe our diversity should be well represented on our teams, share in the prosperity of our projects, and join us in celebrating successful project completions which shape the Atlanta skyline. We, the Beck-Envision team, see this program as a means to that end!
