The Beck Group, the integrated architecture and construction firm, and the Florida Hospital Carrollwood Foundation unveiled plans for the hospital’s new $6 million Breast Wellness Centre at the Foundation’s Brick by Brick Preview Party on June 5.

The preview party served as the inaugural fundraising event, with a focus on raising funds for construction of the facility, which will be 100% community funded. By the close of the event, the foundation raised over $25,000.

The party was hosted in the space that will become the wellness centre. During the event, guests learned about the facility and its objectives from hospital and foundation stakeholders.

Attendees and donors also heard from The Breast Centre Committee chair and former Tampa Bay Buccaneer and breast cancer survivor, Paul Dombroski. Dombroski spoke candidly about his experience overcoming breast cancer in 2013.

Guests also saw floor plans and renderings of the Breast Wellness Centre, which were developed by Beck’s design team.

“The Breast Wellness Centre will be a thoughtfully designed space where men and women will receive the dedicated care they need in a holistic and healing environment,” said Tony LaForgia, Executive Director of the Florida Hospital Carrollwood Foundation.

The Centre’s unique plans will feature stereotactic breast biopsies, mammography, ultrasounds, bone density scans, consult rooms, offices, as well as spa and boutique services.

“We’re honored to donate our services to the Florida Hospital Carrollwood Foundation and do our part to help support the dedicated doctors, nurses and brave patients fighting cancer,” said Caroline Vostrejs, Director of Client Services at Beck.
