The landmark Crescent complex opened in 1986. At the time, the Beck-built project was one of the most expensive real estate developments ever built in Dallas. Crescent Real Estate Equities, the long-time owner of the project, wants to increase tenant occupancy as well as accessibility to the public. Beck’s construction team is working with Crescent on the nearly $65 million renovation project. The renovation includes updated lighting, lush landscaping and a new 1-acre park that will help integrate the project into the surrounding neighborhood. Paved areas in the central courtyard will be reduced and replaced by trees, planting areas and outdoor seating. Retail on the lower floors of the three office buildings will be opened up to provide access to the outside. New glass storefronts will be added to the retail spaces. Inside the shopping atrium, a sunken fountain area will be replaced with an open seating and entertainment area.
