Clayton believes great design is a product of collaboration. As Director of Design in our Atlanta office, he works with project teams, guiding the exploration of ideas and finding elegant solutions to project challenges.
He has worked on various project types during his over 25 years of experience, including schools, convention centers, museums, churches, mixed-use retail, office towers, and hotels. Clayton has focused on serving higher education clients with design solutions for athletics, business and law schools, student centers, dining halls and student housing projects.
Clayton graduated with a Master of Architecture degree from Tulane University. He is an award-winning architect registered in Georgia and three other states. He is also a published author and presenter, most recently speaking at the Society for College and University Planning and AIA National Convention.
Generous with his time, Clayton has served on the board of AIA Atlanta and is a regular visiting critic at the Georgia Tech School of Architecture. He mentors the designers and architects he works with and volunteers his time to promote the profession to students.
Clayton is an avid guitarist in his spare time, finding music a perfect complement to his passion for architecture.
