464 Bailey Wins AIA Fort Worth Merit Design Award
- Dec 8, 2023
The Fort Worth Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) recently awarded The Beck Group the Merit Design Award for its outstanding design of the 464 Bailey Office Building.
The annual awards program recognizes the outstanding work of architect members in the Fort Worth area. Coordinated by a member chair and Council staff, the entries are judged by a panel of leading architects, based on outlined criteria. This year’s panel featured Michelle Old, AIA, Tobin Smith, AIA, and Emmanual Ramirez.
The notable Fort Worth architect Preston M. Geren Jr. designed the building in 1954. The Beck Group provided architectural services for the redevelopment of 464 Bailey. Today, the two-story Class-A office building enhances the emerging mixed-use area in Fort Worth’s Cultural District.
Hoyt Hammer, a principal at Beck, commented on the award: “We feel a deep sense of honor to receive acknowledgment from the AIA Fort Worth chapter for our involvement in a distinctive office project within the city. This recognition reinforces our dedication to crafting outstanding design ventures in Fort Worth.”
