Beck Group Wins Four DBIA Mountain Region Awards
- Dec 22, 2015
The Beck Group was recently recognized with four awards from the Design-Build Institute of America’s Mountain Region Division. The awards recognize projects, completed by Beck’s Denver office, that demonstrate the successful application of design-build principles and contracting methods, including collaboration in the early stages of the project.
The following projects were honored for advanced and innovative application of total integrated project delivery and unique solutions to project challenges:
- Denver First Church of the Nazarene – Family Life Center in Cherry Hills Village received a Regional Award in the Rehabilitation-Renovation-Restoration Buildings category. The vision for the Family Life Center was to connect people and provide a welcoming beacon for attendees and newcomers and fellowship space for community life, as well as a multipurpose space for worship, learning, events and recreation. The expansion featured a 9,000 SF two-story atrium, a full-size gym for recreation, with a flexible stage for worship, and a mezzanine overlooking the atrium.
- The Solomon Centre in Parker received a Regional Award for design and construction services for the 60,000 SF faith-based not-for-profit facility. The Solomon Centre will serve as a community resource providing a wide array of services including: food, financial support, counseling and meeting space.
- Royal Gorge Bridge and Park Visitor’s Center in Canon City received a Regional Award, first in the Civic Buildings category and also as the Rocky Mountain Region’s Best Overall Project of the Year. Beck’s design and construction services brought the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park back to life after nearly everything in the 360-acre park was destroyed by wild fire. The project encompassed a complete revisioning of the private tourist attraction. The tight schedule included a new master plan, vertical buildings on both sides of the Gorge and site-built water and sewage treatment infrastructure.
The DBIA awards show Beck’s commitment both to integrated project delivery and customer satisfaction. Douglas Crozier, CEO of The Solomon Foundation echoed this sentiment at the ribbon cutting ceremony for The Solomon Centre’s opening. “The Solomon Foundation has worked with contractors all over the country building church facilities and The Beck Group is the finest contractor that we have worked with,” he said. “The team are all very professional and have a heart for the communities and our ministries.”
