Beck Receives COTE Award for Second Straight Year

  • Apr 23, 2015

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and its Committee on the Environment (COTE) selected the Hughes Warehouse Adaptive Reuse in San Antonio, Texas, as one of its top 10 national examples of sustainable architecture and green design solutions to protect and enhance the environment.

The Hughes Warehouse is the second Beck-built project to be recognized by the AIA COTE Awards. In 2014, the AIA and COTE recognized the U.S. General Services Administration’s historic Wayne N. Aspinall Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Grand Junction, Colo., becoming the GSA’s first historic building project to be recognized by the AIA COTE Awards.

Beck worked with San Antonio-based Overland Partners on the Hughes Warehouse, which also serves as Overland Partners’ office. This remarkable project transformed an abandoned 1917 plumbing warehouse into a collaborative workspace for the acclaimed architecture firm.
