Holly Crowder Earns Recognition as a Top Woman in Business

  • Aug 27, 2018

Holly Crowder, Chief Human Resources Officer at The Beck Group, the integrated architecture and construction firm, was honored at the 11th annual Dallas Business Journal Women in Business Awards.

She is one of the 30 women honored that represent a variety of industries and roles crucial to the Dallas-Fort Worth ecosystem, including financial and legal services, commercial real estate and construction, and non-profit organizations.

Crowder’s Professional Impact

Crowder’s contributions at Beck span 21 years. She describes her professional journey as a “crazy career path” which started right out of college. She was one of a handful of women in construction working as an estimator. Since then, she’s been involved with nearly every aspect of delivering buildings, including as a project manager and superintendent.

Today, she is the only woman in Beck’s c-suite, serving all 780+ of Beck’s U.S. employees.

“My time in the trenches gives me an understanding of what it takes to get the job done. I know how hard the job can be at times and I know ways that we need to adjust to help our people be more successful,” said Crowder.

Her department is focused on identifying the best talent and retaining and growing employees to keep up with the $1.3 billion in growth Beck has earned. It has developed and refined programs that ensure employees integrate within Beck and continue to grow while they are here, including Beck University, one of her most significant legacies.

Through Beck University – the company’s internal training program – employees have access to a range of classes and can customize training based on their current or desired career path. It is one of the most-used benefits at Beck. In 2017, over 30,000 hours of training were logged by employees.

Crowder has also dedicated her efforts to improve the financial wellness of Beck employees. As a result of her leadership, employees receive free access to Dave Ramsey’s Smart Dollar program and improvements to Beck’s award-winning 401K have led to a 93% participation rate.

Caring for Family and the Community

Outside of work, Crowder is an active member of the board for Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas, the TEXO Foundation, and Tyler Street Christian Academy. She is a graduate of Leadership Dallas and is a Dallas Regional Chamber LEAD YP mentor.

When she’s not donating her time to the community, Crowder is a dedicated wife to her husband, Stacey, and mother to their two young daughters.
