University of Tampa Wins Urban Excellence Award

The University of Tampa’s Innovation and Collaboration Building, designed and built by Beck, was recognized for its contributions to a vibrant downtown by the Tampa Downtown Partnership. The project was honored as one of the nine winners of the 2015 Annual Urban Excellence Awards.

The awards recognize individuals, organizations, businesses, events and projects that have made a significant contribution toward creating a unique, vibrant and diverse downtown.

The Innovation and Collaboration Building is an eight-story building with three floors of academic and administrative space, including a new, state-of-the-art home for the John P. Lowth Entrepreneurship Center, and four floors of parking. The building also includes high-tech cybersecurity labs, a campus safety office, innovative classrooms, study spaces, faculty offices and a Starbucks.
