Welch Hall Renovation at UT Austin Wins Safety Award

The University of Texas at Austin Office of Facilities Planning and Construction has awarded the Welch Hall West Wing Renovation Project a Gold STEP award for exemplary safety performance. The STEP award recognized Beck’s leadership in promoting a culture of safety in the construction industry.
Welch Hall has housed the university’s chemistry department since its original construction. Beck’s construction team renovated six floors of the 1929 east wing to upgrade chemistry teaching and research laboratories. The renovations included modernization and life safety improvements of classrooms, administrative offices, wet and dry laboratories, computer labs and all required support facilities.
