The Beck Group, the integrated architecture and construction firm, has promoted Brian Miller to Chief Design Officer. Miller, who has been with Beck for over 20 years, will lead the firm’s design vision and architecture practice, which includes over 180 architects.
Miller has helped lead some of Beck’s most significant design projects including the Hunt Oil Company Headquarters in Dallas, Duke University’s Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham, Omni Barton Creek Resort and the 401 South First office tower in Austin. Before his promotion, he was a Principal of Architecture in Beck’s Austin office.
“I look forward to Brian’s leadership in continuing to move this firm and our design practice forward. His unique mix of design experience and deep understanding of our integrated model will help to inform and deliver on our mission of revolutionizing architecture and construction,” said Fred Perpall, Beck’s chief executive officer.
Miller is based in Beck’s Austin office. He succeeds his mentor Rick del Monte. Del Monte, was in the role since 1999 when his former firm, Urban Architecture, merged with Beck. He remains at the firm as a partner and national design director, bringing in and working with new clients, helping establish Beck’s architectural practice in Mexico, and recruiting and mentoring design talent.
