Beck’s Biannual Cost Report: Spring 2016
- Jun 20, 2016
Twice a year our estimating teams publish a Cost Report addressing the major markets and offices that The Beck Group serves.
Several trends related to the busy construction market were noted in the Spring 2016 edition.
- The construction industry is generally in the best shape that it has been in since the recession. Construction unemployment is down to 6.2 percent and activity is up in virtually all sectors.
- We continue to see a very tight labor market. The shortage of construction workers continues with demand outweighing supply.
- The healthcare, mixed-use and multi-family sectors are continuing to see an increase in spending.
- Costs for materials like copper, crude oil and natural gas continue to drop, the price for flat glass remains steady, while concrete product prices will see a steady increase in 2016.
