Norma Lehman Earns WELL Accredited Professional Credential

  • Jul 19, 2016

Norma Lehman, Director of Sustainability, has earned the WELL Accredited Professional (WELL APTM) credential through the International WELL Building InstituteTM (IWBITM). The accreditation places her among a group of leading professionals who are dedicated to supporting human health and well-being in the buildings that make up our communities.

The WELL AP credential is the new, leading credential signifying advanced knowledge of health and well-being in the built environment and specialization in the WELL Building StandardTM (WELL). Developed using rigorous test development best practices from Green Business Certification, the same group that administers LEED certification, the WELL AP exam is designed to test a candidate’s knowledge and proficiency in building wellness and the principles, practices and applications of the WELL Building Standard.

“We spend so much time in buildings each day that it’s important to ensure that they are designed and built with people’s health and wellness at the center of design. That’s why this accreditation is so important to us,” says Lehman. “Just as LEED certification is designed to optimize building performance, the WELL Building Standard protects & enhances the health of those that call these buildings home.”

According to CBRE, people who work in WELL Certified environments have expressed the positive impact that their WELL offices have on productivity and performance. In the first building to be WELL Certified™, CBRE Corporate Headquarters, employees responded with the following survey feedback:

  • 83 percent felt more productive.
  • 100 percent said that clients are interested in their new way of working.
  • 92 percent said the new space has a positive impact on their business performance.
  • 93 percent said they are able to more easily collaborate with others.
