Beck Hosts 7th Annual Guitars and Pars Event

The Beck Foundation and our team hosted its annual philanthropy event, “Guitars and Pars,” benefitting the Music Therapy program at Dell Children‘s Medical Center in Austin.

Music is truly a healing language, which is why Dell Children’s created the Music Therapy Program. Music provides a spark that reaches deep inside – beyond medicine – to connect with children, even the very youngest, the nonverbal, and those in pain. Because it is not a billable service, the Music Therapy Program is entirely funded by philanthropy.

Through our longstanding relationship with Dell Children’s, Beck learned that the hospital’s music therapy program was in need of support. Beck’s solution was to create a unique event – far beyond the typical golf tournament – that raises money and increases awareness of the benefits of the unique music program.

Guitars and Pars is a creative mix of live music and golf that takes place over two days in May in Austin, Texas. This year, the event kicked off with a concert at the Still Austin Distillery and featured the local musical group Shinyribs. Day two of Guitars & Pars followed with a golf tournament and post-golf concert at the University of Texas Golf Club.

2022 marks the 7^th year of the event, and the 4^th year funding the Music Therapy Program. Since the inception of the event, the Beck Foundation has been able to raise over $1,000,000 to support multiple programs at Dell Children’s Medical Center! Ryan Therrell, director of business development in Austin, said, “The success and growth we have seen with Guitars and Pars has been amazing.
