A new batch of talented and driven interns are joining The Beck Group this summer.

Every fall and spring, we recruit students at architecture and construction career fairs from universities across the country to participate in our Architecture & Construction Summer Internship Program. In addition to the new interns, we are also proud to share that we have a few familiar faces returning for a second summer.

To welcome the group, we host a slew of events designed for the student interns to integrate into our culture and understand our values of integrity, caring, integration, and innovation.

A Week of Onboarding

Aptly named “Intern Week,” these savvy students fly to Dallas, Texas – home of The Beck Group headquarters – from across the country to begin experiencing Beck’s unique culture. Planned and led by our HR team, the five-day event kicks off with an intern orientation and happy hour.

The very next day, participants attended the annual Beck to Basics Conference and Architecture Day, immediately followed by a mixer at Topgolf. Mid-week, the intern crew volunteered at Crossroads Community Services then headed to Fort Worth to bowl at Cityview Lanes and stay overnight on campus in a Beck-built dorm at Texas Christian University.

On Thursday, the interns enjoyed a “build day” at Factory Blue. Many of the items built by interns go to a silent auction hosted by the nonprofit. Thursday evening, the group enjoyed local Tex-Mex at Mexican Inn Café.

Intern Week ended on Friday with a tour of our jobsite at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth and lunch at the infamous Texas fast food restaurant, Whataburger.

A Summer of Experience

Now that the festivities have wrapped, these talented interns will return to their respective Beck offices and work with and learn from our teams. They will also apply the knowledge from the intern week, college, and past internships to contribute to design, construction, or in a project management capacity.

In addition to the interns we hire through campus recruiting, we bring in students to support Beck’s corporate and cross-functional departments including Accounting, Legal, Beck Technology, and other construction field help.

Summer is an exciting time for our organization, and we look forward to seeing the mentorship and growth that comes from our unique program.

To all of our interns: thank you for your contributions to Beck!
