The Beck Group, the integrated architecture and construction firm, has named Ben Watkins regional director of its Atlanta office.
Watkins will manage design and construction operations. His responsibilities include strategic planning, operations, client relationships, business development, project execution, staffing, and safety for the Atlanta office.
An industry veteran with over 20 years’ experience, Watkins has an array of experience across all market sectors, including healthcare and higher education, managing projects in the field, and serving in regional- and executive-level leadership roles.
Additionally, Watkins will continue to grow the brand’s 80 plus year legacy in Atlanta. Beck has recently worked on key integrated architecture and construction projects in the region, including the award-winning Hub at Peachtree Center, the renovation of the historic Candler Hotel, and the transformation of Phipps Plaza, which is still in construction.
“Ben is a great addition to The Beck Group. He is a strategic thinker who excels at building client relationships and business. He values collaboration and is a staunch supporter of delivering integrated projects that not only benefit our clients but that help to build better communities,” said Fred Perpall, chief executive officer.
His work in the community includes serving as a board member of the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia, which addresses labor shortages through workforce development and cultivates talent pipelines into the industry for youth.
He is a Chairman’s Club member of the Cobb County and Gwinnett County Chambers of Commerce. He also chaired the committee that exclusively funded and provided pro bono services to build a pavilion for families at the Ronald McDonald House of Atlanta.
Watkins earned his Bachelor of Science in Building Construction at Auburn University. He lives in Acworth with his wife Valerie and their sons, Stewart and Duke.
