DBIA Appoints Rick del Monte Chairman of Board

Rick del Monte, managing director and national design director at The Beck Group was appointed Board Chairman of the Design-Build Institute of America’s (DBIA) 2020 National Board.

The DBIA’s Board of Directors works to educate and advocate for Design-Build Done Right™ best practices which have made design-build the fastest growing and most popular project delivery method in the nation.

Combined with his experience at the DBIA, Rick also brings decades of experience in both design and construction aspects of integrated project delivery. He is a tireless advocate in the design community for design-build and brings a unique experience to DBIA’s national board leadership.

“I’m honored to serve as chairman and look forward to working with my fellow board members to guide the industry on the benefits of design-build for today and beyond,” said Rick del Monte.

At Beck, Rick brings in and works with new clients. He is also responsible for recruiting and mentoring design talent across the country. Along with designing multiple projects in Korea, he is helping establish the firm’s architectural practice in Mexico.

He’s been involved with many of the firm’s most notable design-build projects, including the Hunt Oil Company Headquarters, the award-winning Shake Shack restaurant for Crescent Real Estate Equities, and the new multi-purpose football stadium at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

In addition to his esteemed role with the DBIA, Rick serves on the board of directors for the Business Council for the Arts. He is a noted speaker and writer on the value of integration and the changes taking place in the design industry. He was named a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 2015.
