Lessons in Leadership
- Jun 9, 2016
More than 30 Atlanta business and nonprofit leaders can now boast about being graduates of Urban Land Institute’s Atlanta Center for Leadership Program, include James Norris, Director of Planning in Beck’s Atlanta office. The nine-month program encourages responsible development in the Atlanta region, provides lessons in leaderships and strengthens connections among individuals in real estate-related organizations.
“Having the opportunity to learn from colleagues who are not only in the same industry but have the same passion for making a difference in the Atlanta community has given me a unique perspective on the opportunities available in the city. I’ve been inspired to think creatively, whether I’m helping clients or community organizations develop solutions to challenges,” says Norris. “I also discovered a new found passion for the City of Atlanta and will continue my time with ULI by working on the branding of Atlanta in an effort to help attract new corporations and talent to our city. ”
The Center for Leadership’s mission is to cultivate leadership and life-strategy skills by teaching emerging leaders in the real estate and land use industries how the Atlanta region gets built. The program is organized around eight full-day intensive seminars over nine months. Seminar topics include housing and design, economic development and community building.
