Major Milestone at Crescent’s McKinney & Olive

  • Oct 6, 2015

Today construction on Crescent’s McKinney & Olive Office Tower, located at the corner of McKinney Avenue and Olive Street in Uptown Dallas, reached a milestone with a Topping Out Reception at the Ritz Carlton Dallas. The tallest office building in Uptown at 20-stories, the 530,000 square foot project built by Beck is unique in several ways:

The building is the first in Dallas to be designed by world-renowned architect, Cesar Pelli, and the first commercial office building in Dallas designed by an internationally acclaimed architect since the 1980s.

  • The project will include a blend of office, retail and restaurants and a one-acre public outdoor piazza, with mature landscaping for customers and the community that will set the building off from other buildings in the area.
  • The challenging geometry of the office tower allows it to tilt outward on the north façade creating additional space as the tower rises. In addition, the building is designed so that corner offices have an unobstructed view of Uptown and downtown Dallas.

“McKinney & Olive is a great example of what can happen when world class design meets quality construction and a strong sense of the needs of business and community,” says Fred Perpall, Chief Executive Office at The Beck Group. “We are excited to celebrate this significant milestone with our partners at Crescent and Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and look forward to the opening of a destination that is a centerpiece for work and social life in this vibrant Uptown neighborhood.”

Once open in 2016, the building will feature 10-foot ceilings, ultra-efficient floor plates, state-of-the-art security, destination elevators, an outdoor landscaped garden on the fifth floor, a fitness center designed by Canyon Ranch, and a conference center.
