Norma Lehman Promoted to Principal of Architecture

The Beck Group, the integrated architecture and construction firm, announced that Norma Lehman has been promoted to principal of architecture.

The promotion makes Lehman the only female principal at Beck, and the second woman in the organization’s history to hold this title. As principal, she will lead Beck’s higher education group, managing business development and team health.

Lehman joined Beck in 2004 as part of the healthcare design team. After a decade of experience in evidence-based healthcare initiatives, she now brings that knowledge and experience to Beck’s higher education efforts.

Lehman will also continue to direct the development and implementation of sustainable strategies for Beck. Under her leadership, Beck signed the AIA 2030 Commitment in an effort to reduce the energy consumption in the buildings we design.

“Norma has played a key role in the success we’ve achieved as an innovative and sustainable leader in design and construction, and in growing our higher education portfolio. She is a trusted mentor to her team and to all women at Beck,” said Rick del Monte, Beck’s chief design officer.

Lehman earned a Master of Arts degree in Sustainability and Development from Southern Methodist University. She currently serves as chair of the U.S. Green Building Council of North Texas. She is also an active member of TEXO, helping to plan its inaugural “Women in Leadership” program, which helps develop women on the cusp on leadership in construction.
