Omni Barton Creek Resort celebrates project milestone

The Beck Group and Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa celebrated an important milestone in the construction of the $150-million transformation of the iconic Texas Hill Country retreat – the topping out of the resort’s new guestroom tower.
The new tower will be a signature feature when Omni Barton Creek reopens as a 493-guestroom resort in May 2019.
“The evolution of Omni Barton Creek is our most highly anticipated project to debut in 2019,” said Peter Strebel, president of Omni Hotels & Resorts. “Upon completion, Omni Barton Creek will be a mecca for relaxation, golf, culinary and meeting and event experiences.”
Beck is leading design and construction of the resort’s evolution, “We are pleased to be ahead of schedule, which allows the new Omni Barton Creek to open and welcome guests in May 2019, a beautiful time of year to visit Austin,” said Bryan Smith, regional general superintendent for Beck. “A benefit of designing and building the new Omni Barton Creek is that construction moves at an accelerated pace.”
The new tower and conference center’s view of and connection to the surrounding Hill Country is central to the design of the resort. Featuring a unique lobby bar experience and 180 luxurious guest rooms, including 50 suites, with floor-to-ceiling windows, the hotel will enhance the guest experience in a myriad of ways.
In addition to the new tower and conference center, Beck is addressing organization in core areas of the resort and enhancing the visitor experience, including:
- Seven new dining experiences throughout the resort
- New conference center, ballroom and outdoor events pavilion
- Canyons Clubhouse, a new golf clubhouse, which opened in 2018, at the acclaimed Fazio Canyons golf course
- A new Mokara Spa and wellness center
- Expanded poolscapes
- New tennis complex
- Updated décor and design in all existing guest rooms and meeting spaces
