Waco Family Medicine: New Headquarters Nears Completion

  • Mar 5, 2024

Construction of the Waco Family Medicine new headquarters is progressing steadily. The interior finishing phase will start in the coming weeks.

Waco Family Medicine and The Beck Group, the project’s general contractor, confirmed that the new healthcare facility is 80 percent complete. Beck also confirmed the project remains on schedule and within budget.

The $65 million project, initiated in late 2021, aims to enhance clinical facilities and accommodate new equipment. Donations from local benefactors have been pivotal in advancing the project.

Highlighting the project’s local impact, Jerad Douglas, project executive at The Beck Group, emphasized that approximately 75 percent of the 40 trade partner companies involved in construction are based in Waco and McLennan County, contributing to local job growth.

New Facility Will Improve Patient Services

The new 143,000-square-foot, four-floor building at 1600 Providence Drive, scheduled for completion by the end of May, will significantly expand clinical and overall space. The expansion will allow for increased capacity and improved patient services.

The last major milestone happened when the project celebrated its Topping Out Ceremony in August 2023. The event commemorated the efforts of everyone involved in constructing a new healthcare facility and recognized the groundwork laid for its creation.

Upon completion, the facility will house various services, including medical, dental, radiology, pharmacy, and mental health counseling. Additionally, the first floor will host wrap-around services addressing transportation, housing, and food insecurity, which are essential for holistic patient care.
