Harold Simmons Park West Overlook

The West Overlook will serve as the signature entrance and vibrant hub for Harold Simmons Park, a 250-acre community space. The Beck Group, in partnership with EJ Smith and Crossland, has been selected by Trinity Park Conservancy to lead the project as the general contractor. This initial 22-acre development is the first step in a larger 250-acre effort to reconnect Dallas with the Trinity River and its surrounding neighborhoods.

The park will feature a variety of amenities, including an events lodge, a park cabana, play cove decks, custom play towers, filtration ponds, volleyball courts, a skate park, concessions, and dedicated dog play areas. A landscaped bridge will enhance accessibility by connecting visitors across Beckley Avenue. The park’s construction will involve the addition of 1,500 new trees and 3,000 plants, creating a lush, green environment. A state-of-the-art event lawn will be able to accommodate up to 3,000 guests, while a 1,000-foot-long former steel fabrication plant will be transformed into a shaded gathering space.
