Larkin On Memorial
- 63,000 SF
Larkin on Memorial is a 63,000 SF mixed-use transformation of a 1920s refrigerator coil factory. Today, it now serves as the day-to-day needs of the neighboring communities. The project consisted of five different buildings, three that were renovated and two were new construction. Beck’s scope of work was to restore the exterior facade, including brick, mortar, structural renovation, façade openings, replacement windows and sitework for the newly renovated development. The façade renovation included maintaining the historic presence of the early-mid 1900 buildings that were onsite. New aluminum windows mimicked the building’s original glazing systems and several historic features of the site were refurbished and left in place as historic relics to relay the story of the once industrial site. The revitalized center offers neighbors new walkable options of restaurants, retail, daycare, and a market.
