    Beck – Construction

Beck provided construction services for a 138kv / 13.8kv private electrical substation, which supplies power to Southern Methodist University. The university crosses east and west of Interstate 75, a major expressway in Dallas, which required that the Beck team tunnel 440 linear feet under the highway to build the electrical duct bank 70 feet underground. The project also features an underground high voltage transmission line (138,000 volts), extending from an Oncor switch station to the new SMU substation that sits along SMU Boulevard.
