The new St. Mark’s School of Texas Winn Science Center consists of a new two-story, 50,000 SF science facility which houses four new laboratory spaces, a space for the Lower School science laboratory, a physical sciences and engineering laboratory and shop, a biotechnology laboratory, an ecology laboratory and greenhouse, shared laboratory support space, an expanded and improved planetarium and lecture hall, an observatory, student gathering and study space, a small science resource library, exhibit space, and faculty office space.

Beck also renovated the 24,400 SF McDermott-Green Science Building with an eye toward freshening up the existing laboratory spaces, and making those environments more mobile and less fixed, and repurposing the existing half-size laboratory space for independent student research. Along with these new and renovated spaces, new outdoor spaces include a “maker’s court” for larger constructions and a science garden for the study of natural systems.
