Our Commitment to Improving Diversity and Inclusion

  • Jan 21, 2019

In 1957 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. asked an audience in Montgomery, Alabama: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘what are you doing for others?’”

It is a compelling question and one that drives what we do. At The Beck Group, we do more than build buildings, we build communities, and we build people.

We challenge ourselves to be bold about how we leverage our strengths. As one of the largest and most successful design-build firms in the U.S., it’s essential that we focus on issues that matter, from diversity and inclusivity to improving lives, and we are proud to say that our firm and employees wholeheartedly live out our vision and our values.

This focus includes fostering a culture of inclusivity, where every individual at Beck is comfortable bringing their authentic self to work. It also means instilling the power of connection—to each other, our communities and to our planet—in all we do.

It is in this spirit and in memory of Dr. King’s legacy that we proudly share our commitment to diversity and inclusivity. We’re not perfect, but we are getting better. Watch our video, “A Conversation About Diversity and Inclusion,” to see how.

In 2019 and beyond, we will continue to pursue our goal of building people and building communities. In our industry, we are actively working towards growing diverse and inclusive partnerships on our projects and in our communities. We look forward to continuing to share our progress with you.
